Glamis Investments traces its origins to 1945. It was incorporated as a Scottish based Limited Liability Company in 1959. Glamis is based in Dundee, Tayside. Glamis has been and continued to be owned by the Smith family and family trusts during this period.

The Glamis management team have successfully operated a number of trading and investment activities over the intervening years. They have established, funded, grown and disposed of subsidiaries and associated businesses to quoted plc’s, institutions, companies and individuals.

Glamis (pronounced Glamz) takes its name from a small village in Angus, Scotland which is the location of Glamis Castle, the ancestral home of Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the late Queen Mother.
